hi, my husband and I will be cruising the carnival spirit on their fire and ice cruise in may 08, I'm a bit worried about the 5 days crossing between hawaii and vancouver- has anyone done this? how rough is it? is there a lot of activities during those 5 days to keep busy ?? thanks
This is a very good question, and one we have not had much discussion about. I am going to feature this topic for a while. Hopefully you will get some answers.
My wife and I have sailed on the Spirit in
Oct 2005 12 days, Hawaii to Ensanada.
The 5 days at sea were our most relaxing days.
No ports to get off at. Plenty of activities at sea.Casino will be open almost all day and night. Shows, you nme it and it was going on.
How did you arrange this FIRE & ICE cruise?
We would like to do this in 2010 for our 25th.
We did the Vancouver to Hawaii in September 19 2007. So almost the same just backwards. I can tell you that there was only one night where the ship was rockin hard. Othere then that it was just that same as the mexican cruise we took. I know that I enjoyed the five days the best out of all of the day because there is lots to do, and they are the most relaxing. They will more then likly close the roof on one of the pools on the last two days at sea because it does get cooler in Vancouver may. (Around 55-70 degrees) or something like that. I was accually considering doing the same cruise again this year. We met a couple on the ship that have done it now four years in a row. They said they loved it so much that they just don't want to go any where else. Belive me after seven days in port and trying to see everything five days at sea to do nothing will be well welcomed. And alaska is the most beautifull place on earth.
hi whickey, that's great it look like you really enjoyed the cruise- is there particular shore excursions that are a must do for hawaii?? also since your cruise was the 12 days cruise, would you have stayed on board for the extra 7 days (we are doing the 19 days one)?? i'm glad you only had 1 rocky day at sea..
