We have discussed Carnival's food a few times, but I am wondering if Carnival has fruit soups on their menu? We were on Adventure of the Seas last summer (RCCL), and I fell in love with fruit soup. . . .
Thanks, everyone. I have seen the menus online, but they are samples as stated on the websites. I just wondered if anyone had tried the fruit soups.
BTW. . .Dave! I was a little hesitant about trying a cold soup as I am NOT a fan of gazpacho. However, these things are more like smoothies in a bowl, and after a day in the HOT AND HUMID caribbean, they were WONDERFUL!!
On October 10th -15th last year I went on a 5 dat Western Caribbean cruise aboard Carnival's Inspiration. One of the most memorable things from the cruise was their "Chilled Sweetend Soups". They were the best thing I had in the dinning room throughout the cruise. Not what you would imagine a soup should taste like. More like the best flavored milk-shake you ever had, only melted, but still chilled.
- One night they had "Chilled Sweetened Lychee Soup"
- The next night, they served "Chilled Sweetened Mango Soup"
I wanted to tell the Head Chef onboard the Inspiration how much I loved them (I think his last name was Nugent; no relation to Ted). I even hoped I could bring home a gallon or two of the stuff. But unfortunately, neither happened.
So, mooneydiva, if they still serve these soups on the Inspiration, and hopefully all other Carnival ships, you will be in luck. For everyone else, if, during your Carnival cruise, if you are fortunate enough to see these soups on the menu (usually as an appetizer, before the main course), I would highly reccomend you order it. You will be glad you did.
I have recipes for fruit soups. . . .A few are from Royal Caribbean from last year. Lt me know if you want a recipe or two. I've made a few of them, and they're great. However, there's nothing like having them after a hot day in the tropical heat.
Personally, hearing that CArnival has fruit soups has made me so happy. I can't wait!!
