In the gym on the Miracle, towards the starboard entrance, was a white "capsule" looking thing. It seemed to open up like a clam, then lie down with your entire body in it, but with your head sticking out. There were then different buttons and options to choose from.
Does anyone know what the heck this thing was? I assume other ships have it to. I never saw anyone use it. I was in the gym almost everyday, and kept meaning to ask the trainer, but of course I forgot.
It's supposed to be awesome. I can't remember the name of it, but it's relaxes your entire body. My boss got into one on his first cruise and came back telling everyone they had to try it. He said it made you feel like you were floating and relaxed every muscle in his body. Hopefully, someone on board remembers the name.
Yes, all the Carnival ships have them. It is supposed to be a hyper-sleeper (don't know what the offical name for it is). The wife and I got freebie uses of them. Supposedly it provides the perfect temperature and sound and vibration conditions such that a "nap" in one for 30 mins is supposed to give you the equivalent of like hours of sleep. It was too hot for me. They fell asleep quickly (never seems to have a problem doing that) and said it was great. I wasn't impressed.

I can't believe I didn't try it - that sounds awesome. There were so many times on the cruise when I was exhausted, but didnt want to take a nap because I felt like I would miss something. It would have been perfect to get a few hours rest in only 30 minutes!
Do you have to pay for it? Or can you just hop in? It's not like it was in a closed area, or being watched by anyone. But taking a nap in the middle of the gym might be weird, too.
yes, you have to buy the nap. A yes, sleeping in the middle of the gym was too wierd for me to be able to do it. They give you eye shades and the headphones, so its suppose to "envelope you" in the perfect conditions, but I was not able to get there.
Next time you can try it. I thought the same thing. "Great, I'm wiped out, but in 30 mins I can catch up on my sleep" But its a lot like the other spa claims - lose 30 inches in one session....

No, actually I don't. We were given or "won" the sessions in the chamber because we went to the fitness center tour. Or maybe because we went on the tour we got a discount? So I didn't pay that much attention to the cost. It was 2 years ago but I do remember seeing the chambers on the Spirit so I assume they have them on at least all of there larger ships.
They wife thought it was great, but I'm too busy on a cruise to want to take a nap. Which is why I need the nap in the first place.

We tried it on the Conquest. I believe we got it Free for paying $35.00 for a diet/exercise evaluation. It was nice but i do not feel like I want to do it again. I agree it did get very warm. I prefer to stay on the cooler side.
