I will not be on the same ship but thought i'd pass along some info on my exp.
I went on the Sensation last year @ this time it was my 1st cruise.
We had the best time!!! Cruising is the ONLY way to travel--The ship is alittle 80's but what an experience! The staff is amazing! look out for Booty-he was out waiter at the late seating.(tip: you can order more than 1 entree @ dinner!!!!!) Days at sea are great! Take advantage of some of the organized stuff, (kitchen tour, bingo, scavenger hunt, ice carving)
Bring extra hangers for your room and a travel alarm clock, post-its to leave notes for steward or friends! Small size bungee cords are a good addition for towels @ the pool! We brought insulated cups to stock up on soda/juice @ the buffet.
We swam with the stingrays in Grand Cayman-unbelievable!! Via Carnival-
In Cozamel we did the catamaran/snorkel/beach GREAT TIME (drink watery!) Then shared a taxi to Playa Del Sol, small fee but allot of fun! (shops are over priced!) Carlos and Charlie’s @ night we went with the group of people and had a blast! (food was iffy!)
Enjoy! I became a believer after my 1st cruise and I am now hooked! We leave in 2 weeks Carnival Elation!!
