I have not been on the Freedom, but I took the virtual tour and thought it looks nice to me. (I don't get paid to say that).
Then I watched a narrative from Joe Farcus the ship's interior architect, and my nice opinion changed to impressed. I loved the Statue of Liberty in the Atrium. I am going to include the link to the video below. Hopefully if you watch it your concern will be relieved.
What a great video. Makes me want to book the Freedom right now just to see all the fabulous decor. Just one guys opinion but I thinks shes a beautiful ship. If this is in fact remenissant of a New Orleans whore house, I'll have to stop in and have a look around next time I visit my brother there (just kidding). Thanks for the video tour link!
3) The idea of having the big movie screen on the lido deck has taken away the one place where one can sit/lay down peacefully, relax and enjoy the eveing.
Who ever said the lido deck was a good place to sit/lay peacefully? I think the lido is a good place for a drink and lots of noise.
*Lido deck=party deck

It was a nice video. It is nice to hear from the architect about his vision in creating the ship and its decor.
I do agree that individual taste varies. Some may not like the theme such as the python skin on the walls.
Now I understand where the New Orleans whore house came baout.. because he did try to recreate the New Orleans atmosphere.
I am not a New Orleans or for that matter any whore house customer.. so I will not know the difference any ways.
It does look opulent in the video. Thanks for the link. Will post on my return.
rochbie,
We just returned from the Victory and it had the big movie screen, and like the others say, there is so much going on during the day, it's really not even noticed. As for the nights, they showed a different movie each night, and it was nice to lay in the lounge chairs and watch them... Almost like the old drive in movies, if you remember them!!

We have booked our first cruise on Carnival Freedom for Christmas. I am doing my research after [silly me] booking the cruise two weeks ago. I come up with the following:
1) Horrible interior decor - on one web site they say it looks like a New Orleans Whore House ????
2) That the service is mediocre.
3) The idea of having the big movie screen on the lido deck has taken away the one place where one can sit/lay down peacefully, relax and enjoy the eveing.
I know these are individual people's [most of them where over 50's] opinion. But the consistent theme has been that the decor is very depressing and dull. That this is worst ship [despite being new] in the Carnival family??
Any one [I did read Kuki's travails] just come off Carnival Freedom care to elborate, if their experience is similar?
I do hope that we get enjoy the cruise for which we have spent a lot of money.
Thanks..
Dave.
rochbie, somehow I get the feeling that no matter how much the Freedom crew work hard on making sure your cruise is the very best experience you can get, in the end this may not be enough to meet your expectations. Honestly, this is one of those things relating to character. So, some people just cannot be pleased. Maybe this applies to you, dunno. I just came back from our western Caribbean cruise on the Liberty (sister ship to the Freedom) and I really enjoyed our cruise. As to your fixation on the TV screen on the LIDO deck, yeah it is noisy there and the TV is really not the loudest thing you hear there, the music played live for you by singers will be what gets the groove going for you. But anyway, regardless of whether or not you enjoy your cruise, I'm personally confident the crew of Freedom and their entertainment staff will have done their very best possible to ensure 3200 guests have the time of their life.
Well there is a difference between character and personality. I think you meant personality.
The original post was not if the Carnival Freedom's staff will not be doing their best to take care of the customers.. it was about the design and decor, and TV on Lido deck.
The post was about how Freedom- [not its sister ships], as to how different [and as per this poster.. not so eye pleasing...] Freedom was compared to the other sister ships.
As for the other parts of your post... thank you for your post.
