Have you seen the carnival cost per minute?
In the carnival destiny was $7 dollars per minute in 2005 so I suppose is the same now or more expensive. I paid 85 cent per minute using Cingular so is a no brainier is cheaper that way

Sprint will work fine with out having anything done to phone before you arrive on the ship.. Nextel will not,,

Larry, Thanks for that info. I have been using those for several years as an extra. I am glad to hear this news.

Here's a tip for you and other's in case you don't know. On ebay you can get the Bonus Codes for about $1-$2 to double your minutes! It has worked out as a cheap cell service. Of course I don't use it all the time.

I usually get a card that has a bonus, then buy an extra code

A question about the TracFones on the ship and in Mexico. Does it simply use up two minutes per minute of time just as if you were roaming anywhere else?

I only made one call on the TracFone just to see if it worked. It was maybe 6 to 8 minutes long and so far it has not shown any deduction from the available time left on the phone.

The call was made on the ship while at sea.
