I am sailing in less than 3 weeks, and I cannot drink carbonated beverages, so I will not be buying the drink card.

How much bottled water will they let me bring aboard for a 7 day cruise?

The official wording is "Guests may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages." I think you can get by with a 12-pack per person, maybe a little more.

Hi SteveK, welcome to Cruise-Chat. I wouldn't bother too much with bringing water on board. The ship's water is probably more pure than any bottled water you can purchase. There is also ice tea, coffee, and fruit punch available, free of charge. Juice is available in the mornings, free of charge as well. Maybe just bring a couple of bottles with you that you can refill on board for use on shore. Best wishes for a wonderful cruise and once again, welcome aboard!

Hi Steve, Welcome to Cruise-Chat! I took a 12 pack, without any problems. I drink alot of water, and the ship's water doesn't like me for some reason. So I try to limit my consumption to what is in the tea and juices. The fruit punch Penny mentioned is pretty good.

Thanks for the responses. Maybe I'll just buy two cases of bottled water, tape them together into a single brick, wrap them in cardboard and label it "medicine". This is my first cruise (other than 4 years in the US Navy 35 years ago, which I don't think counts) so I really have no idea what to expect, other than I don't have to salute every starched shirt that walks by this time.

Don't do that. Why use deceit? They x-ray all the carry-on's anyway, and checked luggage is also checked. Honesty is best, don't you think?

I was just joking about the Medicine label. Since my restriction to water and juice is medically related it would be a stretch of the truth but not really a lie.

If you show up with a couple cases of bottled water, although I personally think it is a bit much, I doubt they will say anything about it.

When I go on a cruise I am on vacation and not interested in carting a bunch of consumables with me. That is what the bars are for. I was in the Navy too and "made" water, so I never buy bottled water on the ship since the tap water is fine to me. As Penny said, it is probably better than the bottled stuff.
