Carnival Conquest

Will be taking the Conquest out of Gavelston in December. Just would like any input from people that have taken cruises out of there and on the Conquest?? Thanks for any input.

1cruisefanatic...we will be on the same sailing as you!! How exciting!! This will be our first time on the Conquest. This ship has been on my 'wish list" for several years.

We have taken all of our cruises out of Galveston and love this city! So much to do and very easy to get around.

Who will be joining you on the cruise? For us, it will be me, DH, 2 daughters ages 21 and 17. This cruise is a graduation gift for DD.

Same here. Have 6, including myself at this time. My better half, her mom, a co-worker, my dad and his new wife. Have taken 7 cruises so far. Out of New York, Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami, Fort Lauderdale,Port Canaverale and San Juan. All Carnival.

Sounds like you have a nice group going. We also have several couples that are cruising with us as well. We've cruise together many times and have a blast!

We've cruised on Carnival a couple of times and on RCCL, as well. I've never had a bad cruise and I don't intend to. *lol*

We live in Kansas and always drive to Galveston. We thought about flying this year, but DD is tranfering to Oklahoma for college and it will be easier if we pick her up and just drive. It's about a 16 hr. drive for us.

My DH sister lives in Virginia Beach; not far from you.

We were on the Conquest in Feb. of 2004. It was our very first cruise and we were THRILLED! It was by far the best vacation we've ever had. The ship is beautiful, there's so much to do! You'll have a wonderful time!

New to this group! Hi Ginag how are you? Found you. Cruise fanatic, what would you like to know about Galveston? We have left from there serveral times.

I went on the Conquest last year for my honeymoon. You are in for a treat! It's a beautiful ship, with tons of murals, etc. It might strike you as a bit gaudy at first, but you get used to it after a day or two! We had a wonderful time on the Conquest.

When we booked the cruise, it was leaving out of New Orleans. Then Hurricane Katrina came along. For Galveston, we flew into Bush Airport in Houston and then had a town car come pick us up to take us to Galveston. Probably wasn't the most price conscious option, but we were on our honeymoon, so we said, what the hell.

We're going on the Miracle in May and I'm hoping it can live up to the high expectations the Conquest set for us! Enjoy!

Hi Fighterone! Glad you found me! My internet was down part of the weekend due to some issues on their end. It's all fixed now! I was going crazy!!

Thank you to those that have posted such wonderful comments about the Conquest. We truly are so excited to be able to cruise on this ship!
