Booked on Sensation April 10th

After reading the messages about Sensation, I am starting to wonder if I should cancel my cruise. My main reason for going on it was the Turks destination. Has anyone been able to cancel and get a full refund?

I am not sure of the cancellation policy. I was on the Sensation March 23. I know this, don't get on and complain too much, you might find yourself put off the ship. We were in the best suite and I can email you pictures of this room. There was rust and mold on the ceiling, it was disgusting. Bring with you food and water for the parking lot in case the Coast Guard inspects the ship again. We were delayed from 1pm til 9pm. There were 6 major safety violations. We were given $50 on the sign & sail card, but they took $40 back for gratuity. They had the nerve to want gratuity for the day we spent in the lot. Good luck.

On another board, a guy JUST got back...said worst cruise he's ever been on...Also heard Sensation ISN"T going to Grand Turks anymore. (not that it's BEEN there yet} They were changing to the Fantasy. I still have time to change as I'm May 13th. He said heard Fantasy will go to Grand Turks. I just got back from Nassau on Wed and would rather go on the Fantasy if it's going to the Grand Turks even though I was on it last year. I'm checking with my TA on Monday morning.

Thanks for the info. I just called Carnival and the Sensation is now out of commission. The Fantasy is taking its place. It will go to Grand Turks. I also logged onto my reservation with Carnival and it also states your ship is The Fantasy. What a relief! Now I can pack.

REALLY? Thanks for the info. I was looking forward to sailing the Sensation as I said already been on the Fantasy, but at least I'll get to Grand Turks which was the MAIN mission. Yep I sail May 13 and see where I was also changed to Fantasy. Guess they don't plan to be up and running for awhile.

So the Sensation is 'out of commission'. It never should have sailed on March 23. Was it the engine problem or the fire doors? Or the leaky walls? Or the lifeboats not working?

I just got off the phone with Carnival. Starting on April 6th the Sensation will now be doing the Fantasy runs and the Fantasy will be taking over the Sensation runs. There is a propulsion problem which slows the ship down and it cannot make it to the Grand Turks and since these are sister ships and the layout is exactly the same, Carnival has decided to switch the sailings. So those booked for Fantasy Bahamas cruise will now be sailing on Sensation and those booked on the Sensation Grand Turks sailing will now be doing the Fantasy. Hope this answers any of the concerns you might have. Sensation is NOT out of commissioin.

I think this is actually a better deal since the Fantasy received a more thorough recent refitting , as opposed to the Sensation which primarily was freshened up after the FEMA charter.

Yep, it's win win for us. Get to go to Grand Turks and the Fantasy is one fun ship! Beautiful too.
