Hello everybody,

Just letting you know I am back and if you have any questions about the Miracle or the ports on the 8 day itinerary, I will do my best to answer them for you. A few things I will mention off the top;

The Miracle is a very nice ship, clean, easy to find your way around and very friendly staff. There is lots to do and see on board. We were upgraded to a balcony room and were very pleased with the amount of space we had.

Definitely do not miss the Generations show and the Legends show. These were the two best in my opinion. The other shows, were ok and enjoyable and we did go to the show every night. Karoake was fun, we had some people who could really sing, and others who could not, but was enjoyable to watch. Sam's bar looked like alot of fun, but we did not go in. There were a couple of other different music venues, jazz, classical, and a piano player, but we did not check them out really.
The BEST MUSIC PLACE to go, is to Frankie and Johnnie's. Music Boardwalk plays there and they are absolutely amazing. They play 60's, 70's and 80's. We spent alot of time there and our group (ages 10, 18, 19, 39, 41, 72) loved it! The disco was fun too.
The pools and hot tubs are nice, we always found a chair, either on the top deck or around the pool. The kids enjoyed the waterslide. Waiters/waitresses were always around bringing drinks. The nicest waitress was Angela from Romania. She works on the pool deck and in the Phantom lounge.
There is ping pong, mini golf and basketball courts. No shuffleboard. The gym is nice if you work-out, which we do, they have lots of equipment. We did not have any spa treatments. Kids club looked like alot of fun, they had lots of activities planned. My 10 y/o did not go, because he actually enjoys hanging out with us -- go figure.
Food was good, I ate way too much. We were at table 311, by a window which was nice. Gregory was our headwaiter and our waiter was Iketut Susysharama (which I know I spelled wrong) -- we just called him "Sushi". They were so nice and we really wanted to bring them home with us in our suitcases. All the waitstaff seemed very friendly and excellent.

Ports of Call, of course, are subjective to each person, but were really enjoyed them all. We got a taxi in San Juan and did a 2 1/2 tour for 10 bucks/pp. They are all lined up as soon as you get off the boat, and walk off the pier. It was really worth it. Then we walked around Old San Juan and went to Senior Frogs. (of course!) In St. Thomas we went shopping, then went to Coral World and did the semi-sub. That was fun. There is also alot of cabs lined up to take you around the island. In Tortola, we did a "ship tour" and I am glad we did. There is not much to do in Tortola. We went on the island tour and is was about 3 1/2 - 4 hrs (North Shore and Pusser's Landing tour) it was $49 I think and we all thought it was well worth it. I am not sure if I would just book a cab in Tortola and go around on my own, although I did see some there. There is not alot of shopping, but there is flea market near the pier. Also, things are not cheap in Tortola.

The only "complaints" that I have would be 1) its over , 2) a couple of days at sea were cool and the 1 day it rained 1/2 the day, and the glass roof was not closed. First we asked Angela the waitress and she said they never close it, so I went to the purser's desk and they told me it is never closed and they don't even know if they can close it now, or if it is even operational. I am going to write Carnival, because I think that if they are going to go from New York, and there is that chance that the weather could be inclement, they should be able to cover the main party deck. Also keep this in mind if you are booking early season or late season and 3) the layout of the buffet at the Lido deck is insane. There were always long lines at the Rotisserie and deli. I never got anything from the Rotisserie, although the food looked great and we had a sandwich one night around 10:45 p.m. just before the deli closed. The lines were just too long for those 2 stations. There is also an asian station and a "country of the day" station. It is set up in a circular pattern then along the outside is the salad bar, pizza and the grill is outside on the pool deck. It always seemed that everyone was walking around in circles, looking for food and what they wanted and by the time you sat down, your food was cold.

Sorry this was so long. I could go on more, but I won't. All in all, it was very enjoyable, we had alot of fun, felt we got our money's worth. I am going to do all the laundry now, about 8 loads I will be back on later to answer any questions anyone might have.

I love cruising!,

Great review, glad you had a great time despite the weather during portions. Welcome back to Cruise-Chat.

Cheers, Neil

Did you go to the reservations-only/Supper Club/Restaurant onboard the Miracle?

When I was on my cruise aboard the Carnival Glory, I wanted to eat dinner at least one night in that place (they called it the Emerald Room on the Glory). But, I never did get around to making reservations. I was wondering if it would be worth it?

Welcome back, and thank you for an enjoyable review. I agree completely with your first complaint -- the worse part of any cruise.

Thanks everyone!

I'm sorry, I screwed up (residual left over effects from too many Mudslides, BBCs, Daquiris, drink of the day, etc. ) - definitely do not miss the Generations show or most definitely, the Ticket to Ride show (this one is the best, and also the band from Frankie & Johnnie's is in it) Again, you have to see this band to believe it -- they are 4 guys from the Phillipines, and every song they sing, they really "nail it" and sound like the original artists-- British, American -- it is truly amazing. Legends is o.k., I think this show really depends on if the passengers can sing or not.

Frase, unfortunately we did not go to Nick & Nora's (supper club). If my husband and I were alone, we would have spent the $$$$, but we had our 2 kids with us, our niece and our mother-in-law -- would have been pretty expensive to foot the bill for everyone, which we would have had to do -- so we did not bother, plus, how romantic would it really be with your kids and mother-in-law there. Next time we cruise we are going tp cruise as a couple, not a family and we will try one of these supper clubs.

I'm so glad to hear you loved the Miracle! Only a few more days for me! I'm disappointed to hear about the roof situation. On the Conquest last year, they closed it every night even though it was warm. How was the mini golf course?

Hey Cortney,

You'll have a great time. The mini golf is brand new and is pefect, nothing wrong with it at all, but the one day it was pretty windy, and was kind of hard to hit a moving ball, and no we did not have to many drinks of the day !!!

Mr. October,

In all your posts on this site, you have never come off as sounding perverted. Ha! Ha! Sorry to burst your bubble, but the topless deck is gone. There is still the adult only pool and deck at the back of the boat, and, we did not see any kiddies in the pool, hot tub or around the deck. Also, there is a giant chess board on the adult deck.

Cortney,

Between the 4 of us, we took 1000 pictures, and I'm not joking. When I have time, I'll try to figure out how to get some posted. Is there anything in particular you want to see ?
