I sure wish I were on that sailing. I have sailed on the Destiny before and enjoyed it very much and I particularly like the Southern Caribbean itinerary. Aruba and Barbados are awesome and you should have agreat time!

Tom, we leave out of San Juan and do St Thomas, Dominicia, Barbados and Aruba....I think we have like 15 hours in both Barbados and Aruba....was hoping to meet someone else going on the cruise with us...we just upgraded to a balcony on the lido deck...now we are really getting anxious...you would think it was my first instead of the 6th...hope to hear from someone soon...

Tapley - I'm not going on the April 3 departure but I'm taking the Destiny (Southern Caribbean) on January 9 - I think its the same itinerary. I've been hearing so many mixed opinions about Destiny. What other lines have you cruised on?

I just returned from a cruise on the Destiny (8/15/04). While the ports were amazing, the Destiny was the worst of the Carnival ships that I have been on (previously been on the Elation, and the Inspiration). There were many extremely ill-mannered cruisers who were dirty, disgusting and who ruined the cruise for many of us. Maybe in April with school still in session you will have a better experience. Opt for one of the balcony rooms as they are a retreat if the other guests are like the ones that we encountered.

Tapley and AquaFig, I'm on the Dec 11 2005 sailing and I agree that there are many mixed reviews on this ship. However, many appear to be happy with the itinerary. I just came off Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas in April and I know Destiny is no comparison. But what drew me in is the itinerary. Royal Caribbean has I believe Adventurer of the Seas which is similar to Explorer but we liked Destiny's itinerary better because as someone pointed out you get a heck of a lot more port hours in Aruba and Barbados on Carnival than RCCL. It's over 469 days away and I'm excited!!!!!!!!!!
