Question re: Jacksonville, FL hotels near cruise docks

Hi - we are scheduled on the Celebration for the first week in November cruise. I'm trying to persuade my sisters that it would be easier to drive down the day before and stay at a motel where we can leave the cars, rather than make the 4 hour trip on the morning the ship sails and park in the $10/car lot for 5 days.

My question is, Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced hotel near the cruise dock that will let us leave the cars? Even if we have to pay a fee, it can't be more than the dock parking lot costs! thanks, El

we have been in Jacksonville in february.
The hotels are not so close to the harbor.
We flew in from Atlanta, had a comlimentary shuttle to the hotel and then took a shuttle to the port.
It was the Fairfield Inn Jacksonville Airport any many cruise ship passengers stayed there the night before the cruise. And I know that some passengers came with their cars and parked at the hotel.
The costs for one night were 79 $.

I stayed at Fairfeild the next exit north, was clean etc, but did not leave car there. There was a Courtyard on same exit/street and a Subway fast food etc..but was not in city. And directions to Cruiseport posted on the road. Would stay at the same place again, as was a nice area. Take at least a windbreaker for last night of cruise, it got a little chilly on back lido, that was Oct. 28 or so last year. Don't get to port too early, as we had to go around twice as they thought we were picking up instead of dropping off luggage. You guys must drive fast..took me over 6 hours from SC, and I see you are from my home state of VA !

or http://www.jaxcvb.com And you have enough time to get a visitors guide. If you have extra time you might think about spending so time in Jacksonville and visit St. Augustine. It is a great day trip and you can take one of the trolly tours. St. Augustine is about 40 minutes south of Jacksonville. As you can tell I love my state.
