What happened to the Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante that CCL use to carry? I went to the Bon Voyage Dept to order it and it is not listed. I called and they said they no longer carry it. It was my favorite!

How do I bring it on legally?

Hi Cruisehappy, I noticed that too. It was one of my favorites as well, and a tradition for us to get a bottle on the last night to share with our table mates. Since it is technically a sparkling wine, you can legally carry on one per person.

I love Asti as well. Two solutions: take your own; or switch to Princess.

Hello Dwayne, I've missed chatting with you, my friend.

Ok. Thanks! I will carry one on legally

Hum... we ordered the Asti on the Victory last month but it was just the Asti...not the Asti Spumante.

I believe it was $26 for the bottle.

Next time you place such an order and they say the Asti is no longer available simply tell them you'd be just as happy if they substituted Dom Perignon for having inconvenienced you. What the heck, worth a try.

Cheers, Neil

That is funny Neil.

Carnival's current price for a bottle of Dom is $206 + 15% = $236.90

Better than Silversea price. I'm such a dummy sometimes. I had a VERY large booking and during the conversation I mentioned that I typically include a bon voyage gift with such sizable bookings. I offered a bottle of champaigne for each of the cabins. When I went to pay for the order I'd placed, I can't remember the exact cost but I believe it was at or in excess of $350. per bottle. I have to pay out of pocket a percentage of such gifts and suffer the hit in the commissions for the rest. There were four cabins in the booking so needless to say I committed to more than I intended but placed the orders. Then about a week later I was talking to my boss about my bone head move when she said, "You know that you bought a gift for your client on an all inclusive line right?" They could have ordered the champaigne onboard for themselves for FREE!

Live and learn.

Cheers, Neil

Neil, That would be a lesson to remember for sure. I have made a few of those myself with my limited dealings. You said it well..Live and Learn.

Dom Pergnon is too dry for me. I like my wine, sparkling wine or champagne sweet. I don't care for the Leondardi Asti they have on CCL. It has a bitter after taste.

Oh well, I have a friend who is working as a waiter on board the Miracle so I guess I'll ask him to get me the Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante on board for me.
