This forum is GREAT! Much easier to navigate that some others I have seen.
Anyhow, my wife and I are FINALLY going on a honeymoon (after 4 years of marraige) and would like ANY info on the Western Carribean (Grand Cayman/Calica) that anyone would like to share. I know this sounds cheesy, but how successful can we expect to be if we were to pack a bottle of "bubbly" in our luggage to avoid the high price of champangne on the ship? Looking forward to lots of info!

Welcome to cruise chat. And congrats on your honeymoon. you should be able to carry 2 bottles of bubbly in plain site. Carnival typically allows a bottle per guest without any trouble.

Thanks for your quick response! These things are good to know. It seems every time I get a question answered...I come up with another! How does internet on the ship work? If I have my own laptop with wireless...will that work?
Your laptop will work on the ship's wireless network, but you have to pay to use it. They have package deals of X minutes for X dollars. The more minutes you buy the cheaper they are.
By the way, your countdown clock is not working because you selected HTML code from that website. Our forum only uses BB Code for the countdown clocks. You also have to insert the code into your signature block in your forum profile and not make it a part of the message.
Hello and welcome to c/c. The Inspiration is a wonderful ship. You'll have a blast. We just came back from the same cruise in Oct. When you get to Calica, you have to go to a place called Xel-ha,(pronounced SHELLHA), it is THE most wonderful place you'll ever visit. They have a web site-check it out. We rented a car at the dock and drove ourselves-about 30-35 min drive, straight shot down the highway. What a awesome place-it's like a waterpark, but it's all natural. You'll enjoy yourselves on that cruise, I know we did. The beaches at both stops are great.
My wife and I went on that same cruise in March. It was our first cruise and we had a blast! We did the 7 mile beach tour in Grand Cayman and we took a tour bus from Calica to Cancun. It was beautiful! My wife is a shopaholic so she was in seventh heaven with all the shops! I understand the Inspiratin has been refurbishied since our trip, so I'm sure it will be extra nce for you. Have fun!
What a way to spend your belated honeymoon...You will become addicted to cruising....and that's a GOOD thing....Enjoy the total package...Food, Dancing, Shows, Excursions, Relaxing....oh and of course...HONEYMOONING....Happy Sailing...
Thanks everyone!
We are BACK and yes, addicted to cruising. I will be collecting cans and bottles to finance our next cruise. The Inspiration was fabulous! I tell ya what, this site is a MUST for first timers! Read, Learn and walk on to your first cruise informed. All the information here made us much more aware of what to expect when on the ship and we weren't a couple of yahoos running around clueless about the ship and activities. Thanks Cruise-chat!
