If I want to go on a snorkel excursion, I don't want to leave the ship without money, my passport and camera. What do I do with these items while I am snorkeling?

You don't take your passport, leave it in the safe on ship. You will take your sign and sail card. This produces a picture of you in the machine when you come back on. For your money and sign and sail card get you one of those hang around your neck water proof cases. You can buy them at any store, look in the area of wallets. Camera? What I am going to do is buy an underwater camera and take with me, and leave my digital on the ship. No one is going to want it and if they do then I haven't lost much plus if it gets wet or sand it won't hurt it.

Hi Babydoll, Are the disposable water cameras good or do you suggest a buy real one? Also, which store do you suggest I look for the waterproof container?

Wow I just asked this question on our other thread!!! You read my mind. I figured h20lover said she was a photographer...I hope someone knows! I haven't seen any photos taken by one of the over the counter underwater cameras so I hope they will do.

I have had really good luck with Fuji disposable waterproof cameras. I've tried several brands but Fuji has more or a blue-green bias than Kodak and takes great underwater and beach shots. You can usually buy them on snorkel boats at twice the normal retail price; so I just take several along.

Thanks f-mattox. I plan on purchasing these cameras! This is another minor detail that just dawned on me!

Regarding the comment that you should leave your passport on the ship: feel free to do that, but in every port on our recent Eastern Caribbean trip, a photo ID and our cruise pass was required to reboard...just a heads up to all.
