Has anyone cruised on the Carnival Inspiration ? I have read a couple of reviews . but would like to know directly from someone about it .We are looking to a cruise in the Western Caribbean .Also, my husband is into History & Forts , any recommendations? We saw the Fort in St. Kitts, & are going back to San Juan in the Feb , to see the fort. Thanks
We were on the inspiration in December and going again in June. We went to Cozumel the first time and visited the Mayan ruins at Tulum. It was a great tour and our tour guide was named Angel. He was Mayan and fantastic! The ruins were exciting and full of history!!!! The ship was great! Our other cruises have been fantastic, and this was no exception. We did have a SLOW waiter, but all was well. The new show was fantastic and full of Cuban inspiration. We stayed on the Empress Deck and in June we will be on the Verandah. I recommend staying on the Empress and above. We have been below the Empress and it gets long when you are walking a lot here and there and changing clothes, etc. It was a great ship!
Haven't been on the Inspiration since 2000. I loved the ship then, and would go again now. Especially with all the new renovations. I agree with getfuzzy about the Empress deck for cabin location. I try to get a cabin close to the Info desk, aft of the Lobby on the Fantasy class ships. It does make for an easy walk to everything.
Great ship, good food, great entertainment. We sailed her in 2001 and had a wonderful time. Not sure which islands you're visiting, but most islands in the Caribbean have forts. Tulum is a great tour, wonderful setting. The fort and the city of Old San Juan is a fantastic tour. There's a great semi-fort area on St. Lucia (Pigeon Island), not sure if that's on your itinerary. There's Blackbeard's Castle in St. Thomas (definite tourist trap, but good history and great scenery) if that's on your itinerary. Anyway, you're in for a fantastic adventure
I echo everyone else's sentiment. I've been on her and she's great! You'll have a wonderful time. Remember to take cruise reviews with a grain of salt. Some people are looking for reasons to give a bad review. There are people who complain there's nothing to do...but they never went to a show! Or they complain that they didn't win at the casino! Duh!!! Hey most people don't!! Thats how they stay in business. And of course, food is a subjective thing anyway. I've been on 10 cruises and have NEVER had a bad one...there are those I liked more than others, but a cruise is what you make of it. Have a great time!!
