I am a little confused about booking an excursion. I really want to do the Dunns River Falls in Ocho Rio, my TA says I should not book on line before we leave in case something happen or I want do something different I will not get a refund. I was wandering how this is set up on the ship to book excursions. Will they fill up fast because everyone is waiting to book their excursion or do everyone have a fair chance of booking and booking for the time you want to do the excursion. How do you book with independent excursions is it once you get off the ship into that port you book with that individual excursion, I heard that individual salers they are cheaper than carnival. Also do anyone know of an independent saler for the DUNNS RIVER FALLS in Ocho Rio, I hear of independant ones for the stingrays but have not heard of any indpendeant ones for Dunns River??????? HELP ME SOMEONE UNDERSTAND BOOKING THESE EXCURSIONS MORE we leave in 10 more days and I have yet to understand about booking excursions.......

There is a possibility that the excursion will sell out before you get on the ship. And the fact is even if you book it on the ship once aboard the same refund policy applies. We have booked excursions on our own as wel as with the ship and both have worked out fine. I do not have any information on the Ocho Rios excursions, but I am sure you could google it and come up with something.

I am still confused maybe I am slow so should I booked the Dunns river falls excursion before we leave online or wait until we board the ship and make that our first priority since it possibilty it may be sold out.

See my response in your OTHER post. But if you are really concerned on it getting sold out, go ahead and book now on line. If you don't go to Jamacia for storm reasons, you will get a refund, so as long as you are sure you want to go AND you are willing to pay the ship's price, then by all means, book online. But before you do, google on "dunn's river falls tours" and see if you find a private company and find out what they charge.

since I am a new cruiser I feel more comfortable booking through the cruise lines only because I am more comfortable letting them have the responsibility of transportation and such. After a few more maybe I will be more comfortable about venturing out on my own. So I currently book online through CCL and I usually start booking about 6 months or closer to the cruise. I usually do wait until I am sure what I want to do.

I never booked Dunn's River Falls. I tell the cab driver where I want to go and pay at the gate. How simple can that be?
