Carnival called today and asked if we wanted the penthouse suite. So we decided why not. What exactly are the perks to being VIP on the carnival Glory?

As Bem1962 posted, VIP check-in and Priority debarkation. Make sure to re-print your documents so they have the magic words.."Proceed to Carnival's VIP Check-In". There will be a separate area for VIP's to check-in. There may also be a separate line at the port to go through security to get in the cruise terminal to check-in. They will have a sign for the VIP line if they do.

You will need to reprint your Fun Pass so that the VIP shows up on it.

Your luggage tags will have VIP on them as well.

This gives you Priority Embarkation. We have never cruised out of Port Canaveral as a VIP yet (we will be doing that on May 16th...right after y'all get back)...but there will be Carnival Reps there to direct you.

Some ships also give Priority Debarkation when you get back...but that is not as consistant from ship to ship as it should be.

If it isn't consistent they need to fix it. It is supposed to be both.

I've cruised out of Port Canaveral a few times as a VIP. They have a pretty good set-up for greeting VIP's in the terminal. This last time (late October) was more than I expected with the VIP line outside of the terminal to go through security. I have always waited in line before I got inside to go to the VIP check-in.

Mind you this was terminal #10 that the Glory leaves from. They also provided Priority Debarkation information on the Glory. I was a Platinum VIP though.

I suggest tttrrr go to the Info Desk on the ship and get the Priority Debarkation info, just in case since it is such a late change.
