Past Cruisers Reception

Hi Cruise Fans,
Oops, I did it again...yet another cruise. For the first time my school is having a Fall Break, so of course we are going to cruise. Four-day out of New Orleans back to Cozumel. My husband and I are very excited!!! Since this time we WILL BE past cruisers, I was wondering what the past cruiser reception is like. I loved the Captain's reception...Free Champagne. Is it the same for the past cruisers reception thing? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks again for all the wonderful and comical at times info I get on this site.

Hi Philly, We really enjoy the past cruiser's reception. Free drinks and nice hor'derves. They usually give a talk about new developments with the cruise line. It is neat to see the crew in their "dress whites", so to speak. They also usually have the orchestra.

I have cruised with Carnival twice. The third time will be in about 30 days. Whoo Hoo!

I attended the Repeaters Reception in 2005 and found it to be quite nice. The FREE strong drinks were a nice surprise. I thought it was cool and unexpected.

On the Liberty the "Past Guest Party" was held in the main showroom. It consisted mainly of the officers introducing themselves and then a fill about the history of Carnival. Quite pleasant.

Little known fact: At both the Past Guest Party and the Captain's Party, you are not limited to the drinks that are pre-made. ALL drinks are complimentary and if you go to the bar of whatever lounge/showroom/bar you are in, you can request any type of cocktail and they will make it for you.

Very good point IBC!

Some of the servers are bartenders and servers you have already met. And they may know what you like to drink. When they were carrying the tray around with the free drinks, they said hi and called me by name and said they would go get my drink!

I think it is a great way to show their appreciation for loyalty.

When is this normally held and do you dress casual or formal?

It will be on one of the formal nights. I think it is from 5-5:45. Very nice party we enjoy it!

Well as I remember in the Carnival Destiny
The past guest activities are something...
You have complementary drinks and canapés,
Also they let you see a movie about the carnival cruise line vessels and their history; past, present and future of Carnival an interesting experience.
At the end they have a raffle of a Champagne bottle and also they give you the opportunity to buy two tickets for the same price of one in the cruise raffle at the end of your cruise.
My suggestion
Don’t miss it!!!
I really enjoy it and well this was on my last cruise and will have to wait some time for another, maybe on the future…who knows

There is only a past guests reception on cruises of 5 days or longer.

Are you sure there is no Past Cruisers reception on the 4-day cruise. I'm bummed. It sounded great. If it's only on 5-day then I have to wait until my March cruise. They do have the Captain's Reception on the Formal Night, right?
