Not really new. The spas have been outsourced to Steiner for years and Steiner has been doing this for decades.

Carnival basically gives all cabins away at cost or below. They have to make a profit somehow.

As a frequent cruiser and stockholder, I appreciate both efforts.

Yes, the charge is only for the Thalasso pool and Thermal Suite as Cruise Fanatic noted. They are not adding charges for the regular amenities. It is a new revenue stream, but it is based on new offerings as well. They started this last year on the Splendor.

Jim, They have been removing the whirlpools from the spas as Zydeco noted. There are two "Adult Only" ones close by on the Sky deck though.

That would depend on the value that you place on having access to the Thalasso pool and Thermal Suite. If you use it every day then it might be a great value.

It really depends on the individual.

As I stated earlier...I am NOT a Spa person. But I loved the Thalasso Pool. The other rooms that also come with this are a couple of saunas. One is a Turkish Sauna that is HOT...the other is a regular sauna. And then there were a couple of (what I call) relaxation rooms with a hint of some kind of aroma therapy and heated ceramic lounges.

I loved the Turkish Sauna because I sing karaoke every night. Since I do not sing on a regular basis (and I do not sing from my diaphram)....my voice strains quickly. The Sauna was wonderful to steam up the ole vocal chords...
