When I board I need my birth certificate and my ID. Well since I am married the names don't match. Does this mean i have to carry my marriage certificate too?

What do you all do with all of these imprtant documents during your trip. i am terrified I'm going to lose something.

Not too many months ago there was couple that posted here about thier experience with this exact topic. They were a Spanish couple, married in Spain that then flew to Miami to board their honeymoon cruise.

Her passport was in her maiden name and she was denied boarding. They did not take the cruise and the cruise line refused to do anything claiming that it was their responsibility to conform to immigration law.

Get a hold of your travel agent right now and have them pave the way for you to board the cruise. They should be able to guarantee that you will have no problems. This is the last thing you need to worry about after a stressful marriage cerimony. You may well have to provide the cruise line with a copy of your marriage certificate.

Have a great honeymoon and be sure to write a review when you return.

Teeheee Tom..now you made me laugh... my post was misleading... My Birth certificate and my Drivers don't match..because I was married..20 years ago!

Can I arrive at the ship with an ID and BC that don't match up?

(I'll let you know how my "honeymoon" goes in ONE stateroom with THREE kids!)

Shelby....yes we want to know how the "honeymoon" goes.

Most married women are going to have that problem. I have carried my marriage license with me and never been asked for it. Does your drivers license have your maiden name as your "middle name"? If so you will be ok, but if not, then just carry your marriege license with you. Most of the Carnival ships have safes in the cabin, so when you board you can just put all the important paper work in there and leave it througout the duration of the cruise. You will probably need both your drivers license and "sign and sail card" when re-boarding the ship from the ports. If you are going to be in Nassau, you will have to go through a Bahammian guard to get back to the ship and they do ask for picture ID and ship card.

I remember thinking it might be a problem but my middle name is now Maiden name so if it is yours you probably won't have a problem.
