Galveston and Houston Update!

thanks , this was the worst hurricane that i can remeber this close to baton rouge la. gusto was really bad. had tornado touch down 2 houses away. it broke up just before getting to my house thank god, i was outside at the time trying to tie down a flapping peice of sheet metal , a limb crashed into my shop just 7 feet from my 68 SS chevelle. i was trying to get back to the house from my shop whan i gust over 90 mph almost knocked me down. katrina,rita and andrew had nothing on this one. it also knocked down 120 feet of my fence.

They updated the Info today. It is now saying they have advised all guests with departures through November 1st. they will be operating out of Houston. However it did state that they would return to Galveston as soon as the terminal is available and will advise all guests.

Has anyone heard a report on how the Houston port is doing? Embarkation and debarkation going smoothly? Parking sufficient? Convenient to airports? Just curious .

Just got back today from the Houston port.
Embarkation was a little slow thanks to Customs and debarkation was the fastest of any cruise we have had. They had 6 lines at at the Custom check out. There is plenty of parking. We found it to be a nice place to cruise out of. With only a 2 1/2 hr drive for us,we hope they get some other cruise lines after Carnival goes back to Galveston. It also is easy to get to from Houston.
