I was wondering what the changes will be done to the Glory while it is in dry dock? Last year I was on the Destiny and it looks like the Glory is very simular in layout is that right? Does anyone know who the cruise director is on the Glory and whats he like? Thanks...

Hi Jenluvs2cruise, and Welcome to Cruise-Chat!

The Destiny is very similar to the Glory in layout. Not sure of the exact details of the dry dock yet. I'm pretty sure the cabins are going to be refurbished and the LCD TV's added. Also the Seaside Theatre should be added. I have no idea who the Cruise Director will be. Maybe someone else will know.

Welcome aboard,

Dwayne

I had more time to go through some of my notes about the dry dock. I can't make any promises as to how accurate they are.

Besides the Seaside Theartre and new LCD TV's;

Club Crimson converted to Circle "C" Teen Club.

Mongolian Wok added to Lido Deck.

Adult Serenity Area (proposed).

Bow to stern Wi-Fi.

The Spa Deck Category 6E Ocean View Cabins (floor to ceiling windows) converted to Balconies. The new deck plans have already been updated, Look here.

Forward dining room reconfigured for "Your Time Dining".

I'm sure I left some things out, but hope this helps.

Your time dining is an option you can choose instead of having an assigned dining time and table. Look here for more information. Serenity is an adults only area of the ship, Look here for more details.

I observed the Carnival Glory in drydock at Freeport, Grand Bahama on Tuesday, 2 Feb. 2010. There seems to be a great deal of activity on the upper decks and below the waterline taking place. I'm booked to be sailing on her in Sept. to Halifax. She's lookin' really good!!

Welcome back Billy!

Thanks for the report. I'm sure they are doing a lot more than what I mentioned. She hadn't been in drydock for four years I think. They are probably scraping the hull and applying silicone. Did you get to take any pictures?
