Help!!
We were just given a new cabin assignment on the lido deck of the Liberty. I chose a cabin assignment on deck 7 due to it's location on the ship, and closeness to the elevators. I have never been any higher than deck 7.
Is this a good upgrade?? I do tend to get motion sickness, but rely on the patch.
Do I want to keep this Lido deck cabin assignment, or ask for my original deck 7 back??
Thanks for your suggestions.....
I just got off the liberty last weekend. Deck 7 is great, it is where most of the large suites are located. On the Liberty they have Karaoke on the lido deck on the Jumbotron and huge sound system, it runs to 1am once or twice on a 6 day. This is really loud for deck 9 and 10. I was doing karaoke when security came out and tried to shut it down because folks in lido cabins said it was too loud. There is always alot of late night action on lido so if you are a light sleeper it will be hard and you will feel more movement the higher you go.....hope this helps
I would avoid the Lido deck as far as a cabin goes. That is where a good share of the action is.All the differant food staions except the Main dinning room itself are on the lido and the pool and deck area.
I have never been on the lido deck, but I imagine that you would hear at least the deck party. I was on the Spa Deck (11th Deck) on the Glory (which is the same ship design as the Liberty)and could hear the deck party...I can only imagine that you would definitely hear it on the Lido deck.
JMHO - Hope this helps!

I havn't been on the Lido deck....Yet and by the time I get back will probably be to late for you to change,(March 31 sailing) When is your cruise? It may depend on exactly where on Lido you are. Take a look at the deck plan at www.carnival.com and see where the cabin is. Could be enough away from the action not to matter. I'm actually looking forward to it. My daughter knows my cabin, she is a dancer on the Liberty, and hasn't said anything, but when we booked a deck 6 over the Disco on the Glory she spoke right up.
I guess if you plan to be asleep by midnight, deck 7 is the safer choice.
On my last Glory cruise, I had friends on the Lido deck and they loved it. They never complained about noise. It would be worse to be on top of or below something loud (like the disco, etc.) I would think the lido would be a great deck to be on.

I just got a look at the deck plan on the Liberty for Lido. Cabins 9294 and 9293 are very nearly under the big screen where the kareoke would be. 9291 and 9292 cat 4A would be the same and you can't have those it wouldn't be an upgrade. I bet that by 9282 or lower you would not be bothered by sound.
Do you know your cabin number? We will be on March 31 cruise way forward past the elevators. Should be good for us.
Thanks for your input and suggestions!
I called our TA this morning after thinking about this and asked to be moved back to our original cabin on the empress deck. Since I was a little leary more about the movement being felt so high and so forward (it was cabin # 9232), I decided not to risk it. She explained that this was an upgrade because it was so conveniently located to the pools, food, etc. To each his own i suppose... I would rather be mid ship.
However, we did get a $200 credit back from our original booking price.....WOO-HOO!!
On the Glory, I love the Empress deck. It is 2 decks below Lido and 2 above Promenade. Most time is spent on one of thoses two decks so only 2 stairways up or down. Elevators not required.
