WOW! That's it in a nutshell. WOW! There were 500 Jimmy Buffet Parrotheads on the cruise and what a great time they had and provided for those of us who watched them.

My first time in an aft wrap-around balcony cabin traveling with my cousin and his wife, both first time Carnival cruisers. They had a cat 12 suite and it was really beautiful. They had reservations about Carnival, isn't it a shame how Carnival STILL hasn't overcome it's 'party' reputation and people saying that the food isn't really that good. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

The food was delicious, plenty of choices all the time. Some new things were added to the dining room menu that I hadn't seen before and I sailed recently in December on the Miracle and in January on the Fascination.

The Legend has now become my favorite ship. Something else we tried this time was the Supper Club. I have read reviews of this special dining for years now, and have wanted to do it for a special occasion, just never got around to it. Always considered (like so many others) I had already paid for food, why pay more? Well, I'll tell you why -- the entire experience from start to finish is A-1. We had a delightful experience that rivals any of the nicest restaurants my cousin and I have been to in any city.

I can't brag enough about Carnival anyway. Even in times when there were cabin issues, staff issues, food issues, itenerary issues, Carnival is still the best at what they do.

We did have a couple of issues on the trip, but they were resolved immediately and kindly. Guest services made sure my cousin and his wife will return to Carnival. Needless to say, they were pleased with the overall Carnival experience.

I personally appreciated the non-smoking area in the casino. I don't smoke, but I can be around it some. Just every once in a while, I need a break from the smoke -- not the slots! So it was nice to have an area that really didn't smell like smoke. They have some ion exchange thingies on top of the slot machines in the non-smoking area that really do a great job. Stink free zone!

The other area I appreciated was the aft pool area. The hot tub and pool are adults only and for the most part, no kids were around. This was the area the parrotheads congregated. What a hoot watching them. I loved it.

The ship is easy to navitage, no bottlenecks and areas where you can't get there from here. No up and down decks trying to find the dining room. It was wonderful to walk the entire ship on the promanade deck outside. What a glorious experience in the morning.

I am planning a trip to Alaska on the Spirit next. I look forward to spending time on another of the spirit-class ships. They are my favorite now!

Happy cruising everyone! And Happy Carnival Sunday Fun Day on the 29th! I am a host and plan to relive last week.

Welcome back Mary!!!

I think WOW! is a good way to describe this cruise! I am so glad you had another wonderful cruise. Thanks for this awesome review. I wish I could have been on this cruise too, being a Parrot-Head myself.

The last time I was on the Legend they were experimenting with a smoke free casino area. I am glad they have it implemented now. I am a smoker, but I am glad they have this area so everyone can enjoy the casino.

The aft Lido deck is my favorite area on the Legend as well. I love the Spirit-class ships. You said it right, they are easy to navigate without bottlenecks.

Thanks again for posting this report, it's making me think I need to book another cruise on the Legend. And, congrats on being a host for the Fun Day.

Mary:

Welcome back. I am glad you had a good time onboard the Carnival Legend. I have been on five cruises so far. Sandwiched between my first and only Royal Caribbean cruise (so far) and my fifth cruise onboard the Norwegian Pearl, are three Carnival Cruises.

I seem to believe that my favorite cruises were onboard the Carnival ships. I have not been on the Legend yet. But that just might be my next ship. Does it leave out of Tampa? If so, it would be easy for me to go on that cruise since I live so close.

Anyway, once again, welcome back Mary. I am glad you had a great cruise

Let me clarify, that my fifth cruise was on the Norwegian Pearl. I have been on five cruises in total.

Welcome back Mary Sounds like you and your family had a fantastic time! I am so happy to hear good reviews. I'm with you about Carnival's food, I've never gone hungry or been disappointed. It sounds like I need to add this ship to my wish list, too! Too many choices, too little money Congratulations on being a host, too! I'm sure you're ready to leave on your Alaska cruise now, but I know how this work thing gets in the way
