It was Ocean Player's Club before. I guess they are "changing" things a little. They have links to both of the clubs on their site. I've been a member of the Ocean Player's Club for a long while.

On my previous cruises they would give me 1 or 2 drinks during the cruise as a slot player. Last October the hosts would offer me a drink every time they saw me. It stumped me as to why they were being more generous than usual. I guess my slot play reached the level for complimentary drinks while playing under the new program.

Here is a link to the new club.

I've given up on the player's club. I play almost exculsively at the table games. Although last cruise I played a bit of video poker too. For teh last 3 cruises I tried to contact Ocean Player's Club and only once did I get a response. Its like they didn't know I existed. The response I got said to see the casino host when on board etc... The casino host did not have me on the list of player's. So, who knows... I have been getting drink offers from the casino hosts lately (maybe because I have gone out of my way to talk with them and asked if they had me on their list). I spend a bunch of money when in the casino, you would think that I would be at least listed on the OPC member list.

How it worked last October for me with OPC was I re-registered my details. They sent this:

Hi Dwayne,
Thanks for contacting the Ocean Players Club!

We're glad to hear you're sailing again! We have placed you on our OPC guest list for your upcoming sailing. Hope you have a great cruise, and the best of luck while spending time in the Casino!

Best Regards,
Ocean Players Club

There was a letter in my cabin to come meet the host during a certain time for a free drink. He knew I was on the list. He was a good host and we chatted all week. The last day he asked if I wanted hats or t-shirts. I already have a bunch of t-shirts so I took the new hats. I had a crappy hostess year before last, I won't mention any names though. They say membership is automatic now, and I don't see the place to enter your sailing information now either. I wonder if they are doing away with the guest list. I'll call Monday and find out the new deal so to speak. I'll get the casino host's email for the Victory for you while I'm at it. That is if the number and extension I have still works.

They have the OPC re-registration "Cruising Again" information link back up now. When I looked earlier today it was gone. I don't see one for the Carnival Player's Club.

Here is the link for OPC to re-register.

Maybe they are trying to re-brand this in some way or something to save money. I don't know. I hope they don't whittle us long time members out with it. I like the few perks I get with being on the OPC list. I have lost enough to pay for them a thousand times over.

The OPC hasn't worked for me either. I've registered on-line and spoken with the casino hosts on many different voyages. It doesn't seem to matter to them. I do use my card while playing, so I do get the points, but they don't seem to know what the OPC is.

Dwayne- That is exactly the email response I got when I did the re-registration thing on OPC. But the casino host didn't know me from Adam and said I was not on his list. He also mentioned that things are being confused now because they were in process of switching things over to the Carnivals Player's Club. If you can get me the casino host's email I would be thankful. I will also try the re-register link again, it can't hurt.

Jim, let us know if it works on your up-coming cruise. If so, I can try again for our cruise in December.

Dwayne 05-11-2009 06:23 PM

The person I usually speak with wasn't in today. The answers I got were on the "wishy-washy" side about the program conversion. They did say we could still re-register on the OPC site to be on the guest list, if I understood them correctly. They also told me the casino hosts are no longer allowed to directly communicate with the guests prior to the cruise. I hope they get this straightened out.

Jim - I would go ahead and re-register and see what happens with this. Please let me know.

Jim C. 05-11-2009 08:18 PM

Ok. I sure will try. Then I will let you know if it works or not. I guess it depends on how far along on the conversion they are.

Good Luck! As they say at the cage.

I don't know why they are so slow at updating information. Every time I have asked about the membership cards they refer to on the OPC site, they say they are updating the program and site. It's still there in the FAQ and it's been a few years.

They gave me the new caps last October with the new name on them, and now it's May. I think I've posted this pic of both the old and new caps before, but here goes. I have no idea how I ended up with the towel. I sure hope no one was saving a chair with it and I picked it up by mistake and accidentally packed it.
