Yes, the Past Guest party has not changed. They have not done away with the pins. From what I hear Platinum guests still get them for that cruise and you can purchase them in the ship's store.

although John Heald has said the "Red" (original) pins are available at the Guest Services desk for Platinum members...when we asked on the Valor..they looked at us like we had lost our minds.
So be aware that this information has not "flowed" down to all the ships yet.
And the pins in the gift shop are "all gold color"...not the red originals.
It was my understand that Platinum guest's would still receive them as well. I received mine in the cabin as always last October on the Glory. I'll see how they're doing it (if at all) on the Fascination next week.
Do you mean the pins they give away on the invitation to the past guest party or there is a special pin for been a Platinum guest??
I always get a pin during my cruises but they are 7 day cruises, I have 4 from carnival Destiny and I am looking foward to get one from carnival victory...
We have not gotten a pin in a couple years. They used to give them out at the repeaters party. The last 2 years we have been on the Miracle, the Liberty and 2 times on the Imagination. So now we are going on the Valor. No captains party I understand! Still a past geust. Thanks for the help.

Cas and vietvet, This is definitely a case of individual ships giving the pins out in different ways. Cas has gotten his attached to the Past Guest Reception (repeater's) invitation, vietvet has received his at the reception. I'll add a third scenario. I've never received them either way. Mine have always been on the desk with a letter thanking me "for once again" choosing Carnival for my vacation.
LHP was right, (as always), and thanks btw, as always. Apparently something isn't trickling down to individual ships regarding an official policy concerning the pins. My understanding is the same as LHP's..Platinum Guests should continue to receive the pins according to John.
Again, I'll report back about what happens on the Fascination next week. I'll wait to see if I get one, if not I'll go ask and see what they say. This may be trivial to some..but, I like my pins too!
