Carnival's Insurance

Just wondering if most of you who cruise purchase the insurance on the cruises! any and all feedback would be great!

I purchase coverage from Travel Guard. It saves anywhere from 33% to over 50%. For the 3/15/07 Spirit which I just booked I think it saved about 50%.

We have always purchased insurance, you just never know when a helicopter may have to come out to the ship in the middle of the caribbean to lift you from the ship due to a major unforseen problem that might arise while on vacation.....we saw this happen on a cruise we were on, and thought to ourselves how expensive that helicopter rescue from the ship must have cost that passenger.
You do not however have to purchase it through Carnival, we purchase ours through private companies. Travel Guard International saved us quite alot compared to Carnival's ins. rates.

They say you never know how good an insurance is until you need it; fortunately I've never had to use it. But I'll make it unanimous for Travel Guard. Best prices.

I did have to use insurance when I cancelled a January cruise this year. Travel Guard paid within two weeks of receiving the required medical and related documentation. I would never take a chance and skip purchasing the insurance.
