Passenger volunteers to go on stage and then demands appearance fee

Unbelievable. A passenger volunteers to go on stage during the welcome aboard show, and then after the fact says he is a professional actor and demands to be paid.

It is things like this that make me support a law which requires the loser in frivolous lawsuits to pay the person or entity they sued for every penny they spent defending themselves, plus 50%.

ah... counter sue, did he rent the stage to perform?
It sounds to me like a set up, he knew exactly what he was doing when he volunteered.

I have followed this story since day two of the incident via John's Blog that the reporter is referencing. I think John did everything he could do without impacting the other guest's enjoyment of watching the show re-runs on the Cabin Televisions. It is a big deal about nothing in my opinion.

I had read about this on John's blog. In fact I had read about it in the blog when the passenger was still on the ship and demanding money from Carnival every time he saw John... What an idiot. If he had read the ticket contract like he should have (but that no one really does) then he would have seen the clause that Carnival has the right to film and take pictures of anyone coming on board.

I have to think Carnival's lawyers will make a motion for summary judgment to dismiss when this gets to the court.

I've never performed at karaoke. Do they have you sign a release when you go up to select your song?

I love the games! I certainly hope this doesnt stop them from having them. there is always one that spoils it for the meny.

I can't believe this guy. I have performed on the guest talent show and would have gladly paid for the privilege of getting on stage. I agree, this guy is a jerk. I hope Carnival gets the suit thrown out and it costs him a bundle.

One thing is for sure...I'll bet that Carnival has better lawyers than he does.
