How is the ship in general? I'm a first time cruiser. Any Ports of Call I should not go off the ship for? Anything to watch out for?
Also, anyone gonna be there? Our cruise is June 3 or 4

In Jamaica stay with a group only. Do not wonder by yourself. The natives are real scary there.

All the ports are worthwhile. The local taxi drivers and tour operators in Jamaica can be pushy in trying to get you to do business with them, but I have found that a firm "no thank you" usually works. If not, I simply ignore them and walk away. Cozumel and Grand Cayman are perfectly safe with no pushy cab drivers or tour operators. No worries!

BTW - your cruise is on June 4th.

Yes Cruise Cat, I have been here since SeaLetter was acquired by CruiseReviews.com which is the parent website to Cruise-Chat. Lisa is here too! I'm so glad you found us!

You also asked "how was the ship itself?" It is magnificant to say the least. Very large, massive in size. Decorated very beautifully, with attention to detail obvious. The staff work very hard to keep it really clean especially considereng the # of people on board. There are many public areas to explore. The staterooms are quiet roomy and beds are awesome. Room stewards must hide and wait for you to leave, I swear they are good. Every single time we left and came back even in just a few short minutes the room was all made up and smelling good again! Great food, wait staff, etc... I had no complaints at all. You are in for a treat that's for sure!1 Enjoy it all~~~~~

The only port that I would be concerned about would be Montego Bay. I would book a tour with either Carnival or one of the operators recommended on this site. I would not venture out alone here, by alone I mean yourself and 1 other person ... there is safety in numbers. Away from the port area, the scenery is very lush and it was beautiful. Carnival recommended shopping area is city center and I did not feel safe there at all. Plus not too many bargains to be found if you could shop in peace that is...

As for the ship, I would definitely recommend packing a lightweight jacket or sweater for evenings. I thought it was particularly chilly in the dining room every evening and took advantage of buying the shawls in various colors in the gift shop ... they are $10 and very nice ones. Same ones are selling for $25-30 in my city. You will love the ship, it was great.
