I GOT MY WAITER! I GOT MY WAITER! YES!
The cruise was fantastic. I got my waiter and had a great time and so didn't the women at the table.
There were some noticeable changes. Formal night was called elegant night and there wasn't a Captain's Cocktail Party. They had a farewell party the last night between 5-6 and they served "free drinks" that night. They took NY Sirloin off the menu and add flat iron steak. They no longer serve Martini & Rosi Asti Spumante. They've cut the Calyspo Band down to two players. And.., the rooms are a bit smaller than what they use to be on Carnival. I guess the economy is cutting into everything.
Congratulations! We're so happy to hear you got your waiter and that your cruise was fantastic. I hope you're able to schedule another one around his schedule! Welcome home

So glad you got your waiter and had a fantastic cruise!
I can assure you the cabins are not smaller on Carnival than what they used to be. I don't want future readers to think Carnival made them smaller. They are the same size on most ships, with the exception of some being increased in size on some.
Yep, they quit offering Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante several years ago. My favorite as well. Just curious, when did you cruise last on Carnival?
The cabin I had was R-299. I think it was a storage area that was changed to a room. They seem to have taken out the life vest storage box at the end of the bed and have also add flat screen tv's to the room. There was no way they could have got that storage box in that room. I have cruised on NCL there rooms are smaller than CCL if you can read the square footage per cab class. CCL's standard room is usually about 176 sq ft but that is not the case with NCL.
I think they stopped serving Martini & Rossi about two years ago because before I cruise I pre-order a bottle for every night. My last cruise was Dec 2008 and this one Oct 2009. My next cruise is out of NY on NCL's Gem for Christmas, and then on the Victory (yes I know a waiter on the ship) March 2010.
