What is the Realistic answer to bringing on your own alcohol? The travel agent says "Nothing",but I've heard different. Can we bring in any beer?
Can we leave wine/spirits in original bottles or do we need to "camouflage" it? As first timers, I'm confused.

I brought 3 bottles of hard liquor in medium sized plastic bottles and put in same bag as shampoo, mouthwash, etc.. I then brought Crystal Light for my mixers. Then I brought a bottle of wine and a 12 pack of beer in different bags. It all reached our cabin without any problem. I left it all out in plain site the whole week and all my room steward did was keep my beer cold on ice every day. There is so much luggage, I think they only look for the totally obvious like a case of beer in tacked or a whole liquor cabinet.
I bought the first drink in a pink Carnival Plastic Glass and just kept filling it with ice and pouring my special mix over it all the time.

Enjoy!

Don't know which port you're sailing out of - I sailed out of Miami - and we were able to check our large luggage outside at the curb before we ever went through security - NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER - all our liquor was in the suitcase - and as far as I could tell no one checked that luggage - or either they didn't care b/c it got into our room w/ no problem. By all means - take any beverages you need - I saved so much money that way.

I decided to wing it and selected a guarenteed cabin in hopes of getting something better; therefore, with no room assignment I will have to carry my luggage on. Does anyone have experience with bringing liquor in carry on luggage?launnel@verizon.net

Regarding Launnel's inquiry about guaranteed cabins, that just means you do not get a cabin assignment until you reach the port. The porters have the manifest of the ship and will write your cabin number on your tags before taking your luggage. We try to go 'guaranteed' as much as we can. We think we end up with a better cabin.

Hi Vincent:

If you are referring to Grand Cayman, noway! The cashiers in the liquor stores won't even let you carry liquor just purchased to the tendering point. They ship everything via the tender boat directly to the ship, therfore you do not see you liquor until it's time to go home.

I'm not sure about Cozumel, but since the ship docks in port, this may not be a problem...also, they (the people) seem a bit more relxed and not so concerned with the rules. Most just want you to buy something from their stores...Cozumel is truely a bargainers paradise.

Have a great time on your cruise!
