Sorry about this self indulgent post. Not a question but just wanted to say WOW AM I GETTING EXCITED !! I just bought a new bathing suit for me and my little girl and some new clothes for the trip plus a new beach bag !! Plus I had to get a new night bag for dining.
Does anyone else go shopping before they go?
I am so going to be prepared !

Very few of the people I come in contact with daily have any interest in cruising.
This is where we come to share our joys and our frustrations.
And yes, my wife and I always buy a few new things for each cruise--and a few things on the cruise as well.
Lexy.. you need to add a ticker for your cruise. Then you can watch the days count down too.
Yes, it is typical for people to buy a few new things for a cruise. I know some that have bought ALL new things. But that is getting carried away. Typically its a formal wear outfit or beach attire...

Hi Lexi, yes me and my daughter went shopping and bought more clothes, swimsuits and evening wear than I have every bought at one time! I don't know how I am suppose to suppress my excitement until March 15!! our family is like, enough already. They are excited for us but can only take hearing a little about it. It will be me, my daughter (21yo) and my 2 1/2 yo grandson going. This all started when I bought this great tote bag at a neighbors garage sale, it was a Carnival tote and it was brand new. I thought it would get some use. Well, from there we started talking about how fun it would be to take a cruise. We started at looking at the 3 and 4 day cruises. Now... we are at an 8 day Mexican Riviera cruise. Funny how this all came to be, one little tote bag! So, in other words Yes, I share your excitement. If I could just rush March!
Yes I always shop before I cruise. But being a guy I get new socks and underwear. It has become tradition for me to sail with new undercloths. Nothing like a new pair a socks or undies. One of life's little pleasures. Once I tried to buy new shorts. Ever try to buy summer cloths in New Hampshire in January? Doesn't happen. Not even a swimsuit to be had.
How do you go about adding a ticker. I'm also ecstatic! I leave on Friday, 2/2 for California. Sunday, we board the Pride for the Mex. Riv. for a week.
Regarding buying new clothes I order on-line. We are in the Northeast. So,it's all skiing apparel and winter clothes in stores. All summer/cruise wear is just starting to come out now. So, unless you want to be stuck with last year's shorts and suits, order on-line. My husband does the same exact thing and gets new underwear and t-shirts. He's a happy man. Give him his Johnny Walker Blue and a cigar and he won't say a word the whole week.
Well heck, if your cruise is Friday, there really isn't much sense in adding the ticker. Becuase you want to remove it when you get back.
BUT, if you did want to add a ticker, go to the Caribbeanmag.com site (they may want you to register but its free to do so) and look at the very bottom of the home page when you log in. You will see a link for "Vacation Countdown Ticker". Click on that. After following the instructions and creating the ticker, "copy" the bbcode format text and then come back to cruise-chat and go into your public profile and edit your profile. Past the bbcode text into your signature box and save. Then your ticker should show up in your posts.

I can only imagine how excited you are. I have 45 days left and I KNOW I'm excited. It's sooo cold here so I'm thinking of laying in the sun on the Lido deck (that keeps me in good spirits throughout the winter here)
