Does anyone know how the guaranteed balcony rooms, 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D, OR 8E on the Carnival Conquest are. Do they have blocked views? Can I find out what room I'm in before we actually go on our cruise? We depart Dec 18, 2005.
monsie,
The staterooms in all of those categories are identical - except for being on different decks. They are all 185 sq. ft. with a 35 sq. ft. balcony - none have obstructed views. They are all good! As for your cabin assignment, there is no hard and fast rule. Sometimes your cabin will have been assigned when docs are printed and the cabin # will be posted on your docs. Other times they are not assigned until much closer to sailing. When you complete your "fun pass" online your cabin assignment may be listed or you may just have to wait until you arrive at the pier.

Monsie, we booked a "guaranteed inside" cabin for our cruise on Nov. 27 and received cruise documents yesterday. Booking was back in July. Cabin assignment was printed on the documents we picked up yesterday.
None of the COnquest Balconies are obstructed. I always book/modify to find out my cabin ahead of time. The last cruise (in October), I found out like 55 days out. We booked a BL guarantee, and were on the top deck in a Balcony, so I was happy. (I would be happy with any balcony on any ship).
