another question on shore excursions

When you go on a shore excursion, do you have to take your birth certificates for everyone off of the boat with you for id purposes at the different ports?

No, you will take your Sail & Sign card and a picture ID.

However, if you take children off the ship, you will need their birth certificates or passports with you to return! Children generally don't have photo id. While I don't always have to show their birth certificates to get back on the ship, sometimes there is another customs type official before we even get to the ship that needs to see them. I play it safe. I travel with two certified copies of everyone's birth certificate. One stays locked in the safe on the ship, just in case. The other set is inside a zipper type plastic bag and with me at all times.

Ok, my daughter is 13 and will have an i.d. only card (looks like a driver's license, but is only for proof of i.d.), so with her will that be enough?

on our last cruise the victory in dec. 05. we were with our granddaughter 4, daughter 14, & son 13. all we needed for them was the sign & sail card to get on & off the ship. when you check in carnival takes a picture of you, so when you us the s&s card the picture shows nup on a monitor.
