I've played craps for a long time and have often done well. There is just too much to craps to try to explain here. Let me strongly suggest you pick up a book (John Scarne wrote one years ago that I happen to like) and read up on how to bet at the craps table and the odds for each. Done correctly, craps gives a player the best odds in any casino. Then, practice at home.

I will say this, you're fast! But, you're wrong on the 2x odds - there are bets that payout better AND give you the best odds - i.e. when you buy the boxes. And you can also do better betting "behind the line" based on the point you're trying to hit. But that's what I mean about the complexities and the nuances of the game.
