Purchasing cigarettes

Can I purchase cigarettes on the ship. I think I remember cartons in the duty free shop. Can I buy them and take them to my room? How about buying cartons in Mexico I heard they are cheap there. How many can I buy and take back on the ship. Ultimately I am trying to decide if I should pay USA prices and take what I need on the ship or can I save some $$$. Thanks for your input. I am getting so incredibly excited I just don't know what to do with myself

You can buy individual packs on the ships in the store, or at most of the bars onboard. They carry limited nunber of brands so you might want to bring what you want with you. They are cheaper at other ports but really not worth the hassle of smuggling.

You can buy cartons in the duty free shop AND take them back to your room.

....and the cartons are WAAAAAAAY cheaper on the ship than in the USA. Pack enough to get you out to sea when they open up the shops....

I found the smokes they sell onboard really suck. they may be the same name brand but Ive bought a few cartons on different occasions and had the same responce. they were so bad I had to throw them out. If you smoke I would take enough with you for your trip then buy a single pack to test before buying cartons onboard.
I smoke Marlboro Red in the box.

The Merit and Marlboro Ultra lights I have bought on board have been fine. But have bought Marlboro on Cozumel and were awful! They tasted like stale Dorals or something..threw them out too!

They said made in Mexico, so make sure to check the box is my advice. And will never buy on island again.

Hey, I saw you booked your B'day cruise on the same ship I was considering the next week for the 8 day. My cruise friends over ruled me and am booked on Legend instead for 7 day out of Tampa. At least I may can drive there instead of flying to FLL and saves a ton of money.

Dang though, I really wanted to go to Antigua I have never been, and when on Tortola did not go over to Virgin Gorda..aww well maybe next year!

The 8 day on the Liberty will be my longest cruise. Ive been thinking Bout Upgrading to a Balcony but so far it looks to be quite expensive to upgrade for a single cruiser.

The Cigarettes I bought were on the FANTASY in the Duty free shop. both times.

Yeppers, Singles in Balcony Cat. can get really pricey. But I would do the same if an 8 day.

I bought 5 cartons of Marbs for $80. It was like buying 1 1/2 cartons and getting 3 1/2 free....(compared to the prices at home) And i didnt see any difference in taste. Maybe it was the money i saved!!!
