Carnival re-segments cabin categories

Carnival is re-segmenting the cabin categories. They are going to separate the forward and aft cabins into additional categories. And there will be additional categories as well. This will take effect today for new bookings on the Valor. The rest of the fleet will be phased in by the end of 2008.

Maybe we should just start paying a surcharge for balcony sizes that are non-standard. Oh wait! I guess we will be!

Yes, the balconies have new categories too. The email they sent me said it was an opportunity to up-sell the categories, meaning there will be price differences now. Just more confusion most likely.

An update to the thread. This cabin re-categorization went in to effect for all of the Conquest - Class ships as of Friday, August 29th.

Carnival Conquest
Carnival Glory
Carnival Valor
Carnival Liberty
Carnival Freedom

These new categories are for new reservations only. Just thought I would pass this along.
