First when should I expect my documents from Carnival. We sail April 5 on Conquest.
Second, my wife is going thru the throws of what to pack. She wants to know if she will need a light jacket like a windbreaker for late nights out on the deck or balcony.
We have never been to the Caribbean. This is our second cruise and the first was to Alaska. I think we are still in the "Alaska" packing mode.

Thanks
EB

We book directly through Carnival using our PVP and our documents generally arrive 30 days out.

As for packing, a light wind breaker is a must. Even the theater can get "chilly" some times at night.

I don't wear shorts...so it is crop pants and Polo shirts for me during the day....and then a "summer" dress or crops with a cute top at night.

Elegant night for me is my Alfred Nippon Black Crepe Suit. LOVE IT...it travels well and is comfy!!!

Don't forget the swimsuit for the hot tubs!!

And if you get the chance to say HI to Taco Bill (Carnival Rep in Galveston) tell him that DJ's Mom says HI. He is a HOOT!!!

Did you request paper documents? If not they default to electronic documents. You can log onto the CCL website and enter your reservation code and print out you documents.

Not as much fun as finding them in the mail box but still... If you did request paper docs, LHP is correct in that they should arrive SOON!

As for packing - My wife always brings a sweater (one that zips up) because while it may be warm outside, the theater and other areas in the ship are too cold for her (of course she is always complaining its too cold) So tell her to bring a light jacket or sweater she can put on or take off as needed. April 5th should be warm in the Caribbean and she will most likely NOT need anything outside...

If you booked through a travel agent, they may receive the documents then have to mail them to you which will take a little longer. If you booked directly, you can print your Fun Pass whenever you have completed your on-line documentation.

I always take a sweater and a rain jacket, you never know when a shower will pop-up. We also take some plastic ponchos with us ($.84/ea. at WalMart in the Sporting goods section). They fold up to about 3x5, clear plastic, but keep the rain off. The sweater is for the ship at night. The dining room is always cold to me, the shows are really cold to me, and even at night on deck it's cold to me. Of course, I freeze if it's below 80 http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif

Thanks for the reply. You know that the answers on the jacket makes me wrong. But better wrong than my wife being cold.
As for my docs, I booked thru a TA and when I filled out my online stuff I checked paper docs.
I think I like getting them in the mail.

Not long now!!!

eb, They mail the paper Docs starting 35 days prior to sailing. Penny is correct, if you used a Travel Agent (good idea) they will go to them first and they will re-mail them to you.

I like the mailed Docs too!
