My family is going on Pride at the end of March. We have two rooms next to each other. We are at the bottom most deck right under the casino. Do I need to worry about too much noise at night while we sleep? Just wondering if I should bring earplugs? This is my fifth cruise - our rooms have always been between 2 decks of rooms - no lounges, casinos, etc. Any advice?

hi tas. Just got off Pride Sunday. The casino is large and loud on Pride. It was very smoky. I'm not sure how any of this will affect your cabins. Is there anyway you can change your rooms through Carnival. End of March is past winter break and too early for spring break so the ship might not be full. I'd see about changing. We were in Rm. #5237 with a balcony. Very nice.

From what others have said on being below the casino, you should not hear too much. Some reported being able to here a slot machine jackpot noise (vaintly)... There is sound proofing in that area, I would not be too concerned. If you were below a lounge -- piano bar, disco) that might be a different story.

Thanks for the info - puts my mind at ease - I really didn't want to switch rooms as I don't think at this late date I would be able to get 2 rooms together on a higher deck. I thought there would probably have to be some soundproofing.

It should be pretty quiet from above. The floors and the ceilings do not connect. There is a big space in between for plumbing and electrical. And the last few years, the jackpots have been rare on Carnival.

Got that right Islandcruz. last two times out (Oct 06 & Jan 07) both trips on the SENSATION Blew $1600.00 each trip and had very few jackpots at all. there were machines that ate a $100.00 bill and never paid anything over 3 or four quaters at a time.
I just didnt feel like getting off the ship when we got to Nassau to hit Atlantis and recoop my lost Booty.
I allways come out of Atlantis ahead.
the only thing on the ship I was actually pretty lucky at was roulette.

Mr.O.

You got that right. Last 2 cruises on Glory and Elation not many bells and whistles. Not just on my end I mean the whole casino as far as slots. They have even replaced some of the better paying machines with lower paying gimmicky ones.

I had a question about one of quarter slots registering what I put in. It had a touch button to change the denomination so I saw the Host close by and waved her over as I had met her and the co-host and became friendly with them. She called the co-host over and he explained it could not be changed after I dropped the coins. So with them sitting on each side of me it was left at .50 and I pulled and won $125. Host ordered drinks for me, and co-host put his hand on my back and told me in my ear not to put any more money in that machine. True story!

Something seems to have been tightened up the last few years.
