Although I normally suggest buying private trip insurance, Carnival has upped the ante with additions to their Vacation Protection Plan. Read more here

Interesting. but even without the new coverages, the CCL insurance was always more expensive than buying it from a 3rd party vendor. I don't see them cutting the cost and adding coverage...

I'm glad they added the additional coverages. I was trying to get to the "meat" of it concerning the severe weather protection.

Here is a link to some additional info. I couldn't get the New (7-15-09 forward) Plan Description link to work. I got an Adobe error saying the file was damaged. It could have been my computer though.

As with all travel insurance, make sure to read all the terms and conditions.

Their rates look pretty reasonable. Guess it's a sign of the times that they added job loss.
