Carnival Glory - Itinerary Enhancement

Did anyone else receive an email from Carnival regarding the Glory's Itinerary Enhancement?

We're cruising on the December 2nd Western Caribbean Itinerary and yesterday's email announces that the itinerary will be enhanced with the addition of two new ports of call – Cozumel and Nassau. The new ports will replace the scheduled call in Key West. The four-port itinerary will be offered effective May 20th 2006 and beyond (excluding the October 21st cruise).


Sat. – departs 4 p.m.

Sun. – Fun Day at Sea

Mon. – Cozumel 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Tue. – Belize 8 a.m. – 5 p.m

Wed. – Costa Maya 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Thu. – Fun Day at Sea

Fri. – Nassau 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Sat. – Port Canaveral – 7 a.m.

Cozumel was on our original itinerary, but was then removed and replaced with Costa Maya. It looks like we're now getting it back, plus Nassau in place of Key West.

Wonder how many more changes will take place before December?

I loved Key West, personally I prefer it over Nassau anyday and we were very fortunate to have been the last group to go to Key West... the two days at sea back to back were exhausting, I would rather be able to go into port... Costa Maya, to me was a waste of time.... they are all in there trying to sell you something at a ridiculous price and you can bargain with them to bring it down... we ended up making reservations online and going to a beach at the end of the island. The only ones that were there with us were the dealers from the ship... they said they go there all the time because its deserted usually no one wants to pay to go out that far. Plus we had all the alcohol we could drink and the kids had all the softdrinks and virgin drinks they wanted.... they gave us our own beach chairs and there was maybe 20 people there including the seven of us.... otherwise I thought Costa Maya was a waste of time.

I just talked to my travel agent and our itinerary has changed, the same as yours. We are on the Glory Dec. 30th. She did say there is a chance the ports may change again. I'd rather have 4 ports but I was looking forward to Key West.

We were on The Glory last year and I like Key West okay but it definitely wasn't my favorite. I think a good day at the beach in Costa Maya sounds great!

I agree I found Costa maya an untouched paradise till commercialism invades it, it I guess most passengers don't relize that there is more beyond the pier and dock area.

Wow, that's moving to get from Port Canaveral to Cozumel in one day...

I guess Cozumel is finally fully recovering (at least tourism-wise) from the Hurrican, so they are going back. Not sure why the change from Key West to Nassau though... Personally, its a toss up betweent the two ports for me. Depends on your tastes I guess.

Good marketing terms though... "Itinerary Enhancement"
