Question for past Fascination passengers

I'm thinking about a cruise on the Fascination as part of a reunion next year. I have a medical requirement to stay both cool and reclined as much as possible. Does anyone know of areas of the ship (other than your cabin or a hot deck) that has recliners or such? If so, where? All I can get from the travel agent is that with a ship that size, they are "sure" that there would be some place like that. My symptoms, if there *isn't* such a place, will be a "sure" thing and I can't take the chance of going if it is just a probable likelihood that it can accommodate my condition.

I have to say that reclining chairs are not a common item in the air-conditioned areas of the ship. Inside the ship is virtually all bar stools and lounge chairs.

That was my thinking as well. I'd sure like to talk to someone that actually knows the boat well though. There *may* be some lounge areas with ottomans or something. My only alternative is to see if insurance will spring for a different wheelchair with a tilting seat or reclining back. I'd rather not go if it means that I'd be stuck in my cabin the whole time.

I have been on the Fascination and there are no reclining chairs. They do have two massage chairs near the casino, but as the norm, there are no reclining chairs. There are lounge chairs in the aft bar and tables low enough to put your feet up on, but ....there are no reclining chairs.

COOL! Where is that? The URL for the photo doesn't look like it is even a Carnival boat. Are you sure this is the Fascination? I could recline back in one of these (if it was available) and put my feet in the seat of my wheelchair. It's the bar stools and straight-back chairs that I have to stay away from.

I don't know if it would work for you or not. But on the Fascination's Promenade deck there are several cushioned window wells. I often like to go sit in this area with my feet up reading a magazine or just watching the wake of the ship.

Great idea. Once I thought of the idea of using my wheelchair seat as a foot rest, I think I'll be able to do this. Ultimately, I'd love to get a wheelchair that reclines, but if not, I'll just make it work somehow. It's been years since I've been on vacation with my wife and kids and this one looks like the more relaxing one for me to attempt. Thanks for all the feedback and responses.

There are several areas on the Fascination that will meet your needs.

Along the outside wall of the promenade deck is a long line window seats. They are wide enough for two or three people so you could sit with your feet up easy. There are also sofas along with wall. There may be a couple of chaise settes near the piano bar also. The massage chairs are very comfy also.

On the main deck are sectional like seating areas. They are long enough for you to stretch out on. The main deck is a great place to read or nap during the day because not too much is going on in that area.

The smaller showroom at the back of the ship has curved seating that can accommodate at least 4 people. The door to this lounge is always open so you can go into there and relax anytime during the day or night.

I don't think you will have a problem finding somewhere adequate for your needs.
