We would like to wait until we get to grand Cayman and set up our own excursions (we've been on excursions with the ship before and they were a bit crowded). We would like to snorkel from the shore. Any suggestions? Also is there a problem with getting tickets at the gate of Xcaret in Calica instead of purchasing them ahead of time. Is this the best thing to do with teens in the Calica area? Thanks!! We're so excited!!

We've always booked our excursions through the ship, however, there have been a lot of posts about Captain Marvin's for Grand Cayman. You could always take a cab and go to 7 mile beach as well. The beach is beautiful, I don't remember whether the snorkeling was really good so it must not have been outstanding. We did Stingray city and had a blast. We've also done a couple of snorkels on wrecks, I don't remember the names, but they were close to the pier where we tendered in. The cab fare to 7 mile beach is not too expensive, and if you tell the driver what you're looking for, they'll accomodate you. Can't help in Xcaret, maybe someone else can. Have a wonderful cruise!

Thanks so much for the information on Captain Marvin's Stingray City snorkel tour. It saved us $24 per ticket and their are 8 of us. We booked on line and we are ready and excited about Grand Cayman. Thanks again

We did Captain Marvin's in March and had an awesome time. I was so glad that I booked directly with them and not on the ship.
ENJOY!
