This was our 4th time out of NOLA (first time post-Katrina), the port has been changed for the better with a new parking garage and some proceedural changes. I think Mobile might still be my favorite point of departure, but the new terminal here makes for a close second.
The ship- WOW!!! My new favorite ship is the Triumph, she's pretty. As much as I like the Conquest, I think this one takes the cake. The crew was wonderful, our steward was wonderful and our wait staff was the best we've had to date. Lenny the CD was very nice and outgoing as well. If the morale that I observed aboard is indicative of the management staff, the Triumph is in good hands. Everyone (staff and crew) seemed to be having a good time.
Progresso - Jeep safari thingy, had a good time, but the food at the resort was only so-so. My jeep wound up with a flat tire and I got to use the emergency back-up jeep (needed an alignment bad, but was fun to drive).
Cozumel - Hey, what can I say, it's Cozumel... Shopping, eating, etc...
All said, I had my best time cruising yet. Planning to go back to Triumph for a 7 day ride. I just need to pick a date.
"Ciao for now" (to quote Flipper, you Inspiration cruisers should remember his catch phrase).
Glad to read this review. I think we may book the Eastern Caribbean cruise for May 2011 on the Triumph. Has anyone been on that particular itinerary? I think it is Key West, Fl; Nassau and Freeport Bahamas.
I've been to all the places on the itenerary, but not that particular cruise. Key West is nice, but very hot in May.
Nassau, OK. I'm not a big fan of Freeport.
If I were on this run, I'd still have a blast though. A bad vacation day is still better than a good day at work.
As soon as I have some time, I'll write up a more thorough review for submission to the cruise-reviews section. In short, if I could go back tomorrow, I would be off in a flash.
