tn, you've got me rolling on the floor. You are right though. Elemis doesn't make much money on the service. It's not until they do the product push when they score big.
As a NYS licensed aesthetician, my cost for products is 50% off retail. The cruise line is charging way more than retail. In my honest opinion, they are gouging cruisers. Some cruisers will pay it because they just don't know any differently. Others feel that they are on vacation and deserve to buy a treat for themselves. While others just have a hard time saying "no". It can get pretty ugly when you decline purchasing products on board.
P.S. Do you think she visited a dentist at the next port? A'ndrea

The girl my wife had was down right belligerent when she was told "no thanks", tried to keep us from leaving, and told us we were the only ones on the ship so far that didn't care enough about our bodies to invest in them. I told her she was 100% right and also that she should see a dentist when we got to port. We got out!

LMAO! I hope she did. What I did fail to mention is that prior to her becoming belligerent, I had already been sucked into buying "at least" the minimum 30-day supply by the other girl, with the option to buy more. Mt wife's girlwas going for the whole year package! I was already bummed that I had caved in, but that particular girl was so nice. It was the other one that made things confrontational. They won't get me again! LOL

Being in the spa business, I avoid having spa treatments done on the ship. I get the best products and treatments at home. But, people do enjoy having the services done, as they should. It's their vacation and they want to relax and enjoy themselves. I have a problem with any sort of pushy salesperson, in general. It just makes you angry and it doesn't make you want to buy when you're being pressured and hassled.
Smart move tn... go right for her physical ailments with the teeth comment. That'll show her. Make her back right down in shame. Her and her "summer" teeth. Some go this way.... Some go that way.
