Travel Insurance Real or Scam?

I purchased travel insurance after reading post and still think it a good idea beings we are a year out and anything can happen, but I have a question for you past insurance buyers. When I got the insurance on my credit card and printed out the AIG Travel Guard policy is this all I get and is this all I need? It has all the coverage on it, but was wondering if you are sent something in the form of a policy with the company.

Last year I had a cruise booked for April 9th. On April 2nd (the same day the Pope died) my mother-in-law fell and broke her hip. We had to cancel our cruise; and Travelguard send us a refund check (minus the cost of the insurance). I'm sure the process would have been the same if I had a different insurance company. You never know what may come up before or during your cruise. I think it's worth the price of insurance just not to worry about things like that.

Hi baby doll, I'm assuming you're referring to a policy they sent you via email. That's all you need. If you didn't recieve a copy, even an email copy call them and request one. You don't even need to print that whole 15 - 20 page policy and take it with you. There should be a policy # somewhere on it and an 800#. Write those down on something and stick it in yours and your husband's wallet. If you have an energency onboard or on an excursion you don't want the policy in your suitcase back in your room, you want it at your fingertips. Simply give the #'s to any staff member of the cruiseline, on or off the ship. They'll call and verify coverage. No delay in getting you services immediately that way.
