I have only been on one other cruise and the ship never rocked except one night slightly when it was storming. Well I just got back from the carnivsl glory last night and although I loved the holiday, my body wont stop rocking. Most of the cruise was really rocky and the weather was good. I,ve heard befor that this particular ship rocks alot and sorry to say but holly crow people aren't kidding. I'm questioning going on the dream in 2011, and I love cruiseing. My kids liked the holiday but my son ended up quite ill coming home. Other than me we barely made it through dinner service half the nights Too dizzy. Is this normal? Has me a little concerned I feel so dizzy off balance.

Welcome back tttrrr!

Glad to hear you loved the cruise other than the rocking. I've read several posts saying they thought the Glory rocked a lot too. I didn't notice it the last time. The time before I did when the water came out of the pool. That was in rough seas though. It took a couple of days to get over my dizzy feeling (land sickness) that time. Hope you get to feeling better real soon. Did you take or eat anything to help with the dizzy feeling on the ship? I hope the Dream doesn't rock a lot either.

I took gravel to help with the dizzy feeling. I guess I'll just have to wait it out. I keep feeling like I'm going to flip off my chair. The water was constantly coming out of the pool, it was like a wave pool all the time. I definately hope the dream doesn't rock much. I thought the bigger the ship the less rocking. I had to get my husband to drive me to go get groceries, honestly I'm waving that much. My poor son has a fever of 103.7. The doctors says to watch for a few days go see doctor if fever lasts for a few more days.

Welcome back tttrrr, glad to hear your cruise was good, except for the rocking. I love the rocking, great for sleeping. Thankfully, I don't get the land legs, but a lot of people do. It should pass in a few days. I'm sorry your son became ill, that's not a great way to enjoy a cruise. On your next cruise, if you feel like you're going to have trouble, try Bonine or Ginger, or the patches (can make you drowsy). Hope your son gets well, soon! Best wishes and welcome back.

My daughters finance is on the Glory right now. She will talk with him tonight after his last show. I'll have her ask him if there was anything unusual going on the cruise of May 09.

We cruised the Glory a few years ago and don't remember any rocking. I was rocked silly on the Destiny, but that was bad weather and a need to put the flank speed on to get back to port. Did you leave any ports late where they may have needed to make best speed to get to the next port? The stabilizers slow things down so the captain may have pulled them in and the extra speed can rock it a bit too.

That sounds exactly like what happened on the Glory cruise I had when the water came out of the pool. It didn't just splash out a little...it almost all came out when the ship made a sharp turn.

So here is the response from the Senior Sound Tech on board. It was raining the last 2 nights of that cruise, nothing extrodinary with the ship that he knew about. Rocking was a bit more than normal the last 2 days but attributes it to the weather.

We will be on the Glory on June 6, so we will be able to let everyone know the answer for the rocking as far as departing in June, that is. We have been on the Inspiration in June and December and December seems to be very rocky going out to sea, but we chalked that up to currents. A lot of people were seriously ill.
