Just came back from Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel and had a wonderful time. Food was good. Ship was fun, lots of music, dancing and drinking. I really have no complaints other then the fact that there was so much motion in this ship that I had to eat Dramamine like Skittles to avoid throwing up 24/7. I've only been on one other cruise and it was nothing like this. Does anyone know if this sort of motion varies per ship or what? Even though I had a good time, I think this will be my last cruise. Being sea sick for 5 days is no fun.

I have found thru my limited amount of cruises that it all depends on the weather. Whether I drink too little or too much.

I think it has to do with distances between ports. If your next port is close the ship cannot travel at a speed that allows the stabilizers to work. We noticed this on the Golden Princess. It seemed to have excessive rocking and motion. But the ports were very close to each other in the Carribbean.

Give it another shot.

I would not give up the pleasure of cruising because of sea sickness. If you don't want to take the dramamine I suggest getting a script for the patch. It works wonders for me.We had some rough seas on our cruise 02-06-05 to eastern Caribbean. We rocked so hard it was difficult to walk.I have the utmost respect for the performers in the shows. They dance and never miss a step even with the dipping and rolling of the ship!!!!!

I have heard the size of the ship, and the more modern ships with better stabilizers can make a difference, as well as rooms in the middle lower section of the ship feel less movement than in other areas and the higher decks.

Waters are calmer in the summer and closer to the equator you get. I for one love the roll of the ship, and the QE2 in winter is as good as it gets!
