First time cruiser excited about setting sail but a bit weary about the possibilty of meeting any other similar cruisers. Afraid I will not fit in with all the families and couples. Any advice?

You can also request to be at a singles table for dinner.

Graceann,
I have traveled on numerous occasions as a solo and there is nothing to worry about. I was quite apprehensive my first time, but since then have found the experience to be enriching and fun. I wrote an article for Cruise Reviews about how and where to meet other singles onboard that can be found here.

Many ships offer a single "meet-and-greet" in one of the clubs also there will be many opportinities for you to interact with other singles in the numerous bars, lounges and clubs.
